Winter's Torch {Fiery Tonic}

Winter's Torch {Fiery Tonic}

from 12.00

Throughout the ages, herbalists and common folks alike have turned to the tradition of steeping herbs and vegetables in raw apple cider vinegar as a way of boosting their immune systems and staying warm through the cooler, darker months of the year. This tradition has long been known as making "fire cider", but recent developments in the legal realm have made that name unavailable to herbalists today. Read more about the fire cider controversy and the issues with trademarking tradition here.

In keeping with tradition, Dancing Sage has blended the mainstays of a warming tonic cider- namely onions, garlic, ginger, horseradish, and hot peppers- and added a handful of abundant and seasonal herbs from the garden to ensure a well-rounded tonic vinegar that is both potent and tasty, with a bit of a kick!

Enjoy Winter's Torch any month, but especially during the colder times of the year when both immunity and circulation may tend to dip below their normal levels. Winter's Torch can be enjoyed drizzled over greens, added to salad dressings and soups, as a spicy accoutrement to your favorite hot toddy, or even alone as a health "shot"- if you're feeling brave!

Our Winter's Torch recipe tends to change with the seasons and the bounty of offerings from the garden. While the batches may change from time to time, we'll always be sure to let you know the ingredients in the current batch, and they'll always be tasty!
