Happy Hara {Digestive Tea Blend}

Happy Hara digestive tea blend is formulated to support the body, and most specifically the hara, in efficiently and effectively digesting and assimilating the world around us, in all its forms. A pleasant tasting blend with apple-y notes of chamomile, the subtle sweetness of fennel, and a bright pop of mint, this tea can be enjoyed hot or iced (though we recommend hot tea for a more therapeutic effect).

In many ancient Eastern cultures, the hara refers to the area of the abdomen in the physical body. Beyond this practical and tangible reference, the hara is also said to be the “seat of the soul”, or the “seat of enlightenment”. One of the great Zen masters, Harada-roshi, taught his students the importance of realizing that “the center of the universe is the pit of your belly”. It is true, on many levels, that the gut is the seat of so much action- digestion, assimilation, elimination. We can think of this on both the physical level, as well as the spiritual or subtle level, for as the body must go through these processes with the food we take in, it must also process the world around us and the knowledge we take in on a daily basis. We must digest this information, filter and assimilate what is best for our bodies, and our higher selves, and then be willing to “let go” and eliminate what is not needed, or no longer serving our highest good.
